Full Moon in Scorpio, 2026

Full Flower Moon in Scorpio,  May 1, 2026 at 1:23 pm EDT

Full Moons always bring something to a head.  Scorpio is the Fixed (establishing) Water (emotions) sign of the Zodiac.

Scorpio wants to feel safe.  Emotionally safe.  This Full Moon may bring up awareness of old patterns of not feeling safe, old hurts, old ways of coping with hurts. The Moon is sitting in opposition to the Sun (self, vitality, consciousness) in Taurus (physicality, the material world), leading us to think about how these old emotional wounds still live in our bodies.

As feelings rise to the surface, we can decide to choose self-respect and self-love, to release old patterns of diminishment.

As we approach the astrological Axis of Taurus and Scorpio, this Full Moon coincides with May Day, the Pagan holiday of Beltane, the mid-point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice.

Beltane sits on the Wheel of the Year Axis with Halloween, or Samhain. Pagans might say that on May Day, as on Halloween, the veil between the worlds is thin. These are times of transformation. On Samhain we help guide the souls on their journey beyond the veil, and on Beltane we welcome them back to Earth.

In the northern hemisphere, the flowering has begun.  To go A-Maying is to go out into nature and enjoy to energy of the green world coming back to life.

It's a good time to take our emotional wounds out into nature and ask for transformation. Nature heals emotional wounds.  Let it heal you.

We might want to ask ourselves:

What emotional rut have I gotten stuck in?

When was the last time I spent hours in nature?

Who am I blaming for my feelings?
