Full Moon in Pisces, 2024

The Full Moon in Pisces will take place on September 17th, 2024 at 10:35 pm EDT.  As the Full Moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox, it’s also known as the Harvest Moon or Corn Moon. The Harvest Moon is also a Super Moon, coming within 90% of its closest approach to Earth. This Full Moon also marks the beginning of Eclipse Season with a partial (only 8% in shadow) Lunar Eclipse!

Eclipses are always a kind of portal into change and this is the beginning of several years of eclipses on the Pisces/Virgo Axis (The Axis of Manifestation).

Full Moons always bring things to culmination. The sign of Pisces is the sensitive sign, the sign of the Empath.

This Full Moon is also traveling with Neptune, the ruler of Pisces and the part of our psyche that is in touch with the mystery, with all that can be, with all the unformed potential of the Universe.

We might feel awash with too much information, too much change, too much potential, too much of other people’s needs.

In order to ground all this energy, we may need to look to Virgo, the sign of practical application.

There’s an old adage: Before Enlightenment, chop wood, carry water; After Enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.

In other words, no matter how deep our understanding and connection to the Mystery, we still need to pay attention to the most mundane, physical needs.

This Full Moon we can ask ourselves:

Have you been feeling listless or confused or overwhelmed?
Have you been unable to make a choice from a myriad of choices?
Have you been irritated by the needs of the people around you?

This is a good time to pay attention to the simple details of life: clean out the cobwebs and dust bunnies, make yourself some real fresh food, take your need to protect yourself seriously, and practice random acts of kindness to yourself!
