The Full Moon in Capricorn (the Cardinal Earth Sign), like all Full Moons, is bringing something to a head. Capricorn is practical: it likes schedules and balanced accounts.
The sign of the Full Moon is always opposite the sign of the Sun. During this Full Moon, the Sun is in Cancer (the Cardinal Water Sign). Full Moons express a tension between opposites. In this case, the emotional nurturance of Cancer is in opposition to the taking care of business of Capricorn.
Really, they’re two sides of the same coin. It’s much easier to relax and enjoy our family and friends, the bounty of high summer, if we know we’ve taken care of business.
This Full Moon is in square (Action Oriented) aspects to Saturn (Practicality — it rules Capricorn) and Neptune (Dreams and Visions and sometimes Illusions) in Aries. Aries is the Cardinal Fire Sign (action, action, action!). Each of the Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) love to make things happen.
This Full Moon is asking us to wake up to how we might be deluding ourselves. It wants us to take action along very practical lines to create safety and security for ourselves.
We might want to ask ourselves:
Am I acting as a good father to myself? Meaning — do I know what bills are due, what’s in my bank account?
Am I taking care of the business of Life, or am I unconsciously waiting for someone else to figure it out?
Am I acting as a good mother to myself? Meaning — do I know what my needs are for good food, rest, nurturance?
Do I actually care for my body or expect it to run on auto-pilot?
Do I take steps to bring my dreams into reality?
The tensions of this Full Moon are asking us to DO SOMETHING for ourselves instead of waiting for someone else to take the lead.
It’s a good time to honor our dreams and make a plan to bring them into physical, material reality.
