Full Moon in Scorpio, 2024

Full Pink Moon in Scorpio will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 @ 7:49 EDT.

Full Moons always bring things to a pinnacle; whether that means either crisis, or fulfillment, is up to us. This Full Moon in Scorpio has many names: The Pink Moon, Sprouting Moon, Grass Moon, Egg Moon, Fish Moon, Breaking Ice Moon and Frog Moon. The variety of names all evoke this time of year's new-ness and the blossoming of Springtime in the Northern Hemisphere! 

This Full Moon in Scorpio takes place while Mercury (Communication & Thought) continues to retrograde (April 1st-24th). Mercury's position on April 23rd will be similar to where it was on February 16th of this year, at about 16 degrees of Aries (Courage & Determination). Mercury will go direct on April 25th, but during the Full Moon we are still dealing with communication issues that surfaced back in February. 

The Full Moon in Scorpio, the Fixed Water Sign, always brings us into awareness of issues that concern our emotional security.  Even more this year, as our Full Moon is making a square aspect to Pluto (Power & Determination) in the Fixed Air Sign of Aquarius (Innovation).  

Pluto also makes a square aspect to the Sun (the Individual Self) in Taurus (Sensuality), the Fixed Earth Sign. Full Moons sit in opposition to the Sun, and this Moon/Sun axis forms a T-Square with Pluto -- generally regarded as a tense aspect.

Scorpio as a sign is known for their refusal to appear weak, even if they hurt themselves in the process. As Scorpio's 'ruling' planet, Pluto can amplify this concern with safety -- such a hyper focus on what's not feeling safe can lead to ignoring what are safe connections in our lives. 

Tensions have been building this month, and honesty is the best path to release. This Full Moon is calling for emotional stability and compassion for all we've suffered and learned.

We could all move our awareness to people in our lives who express love to us in the way we need, instead of fixating on the people who are unable to do so.
